Adaptive CCI -- Volatility method

The indicator on the top is the conventional CCI period 14, level 200 and -200. The indicator on the bottom is Adaptive CCI, volatility period 60, level 200 and -200. We can see Adaptive CCI gives more over bought/sold signals than standard CCI, even though the levels in Adaptive CCI are larger than conventional CCI.

Adaptive CCI -- Swing method

The indicator on the top is the conventional CCI period 14, level 200 and -200. The indicator on the bottom is Adaptive CCI, swing count 5, level 200 and -200. We can see Adaptive CCI gives same amount of over bought/sold signals as standard CCI, while the levels in Adaptive CCI are larger than conventional CCI.

Adaptive CCI -- Symmetry ZigZag method

The indicator on the top is the conventional CCI period 14, level 200 and -200. The indicator on the bottom is Adaptive CCI, symmetry ZigZag depth 5 and count 5, 200 and -200.

Adaptive CCI -- Up Down Balance method

The indicator on the top is the conventional CCI period 14, level 200 and -200. The indicator on the bottom is Adaptive CCI, up down balance period 40, 200 and -200. We can see Adaptive CCI gives quite a lot of over bought/sold signals. So the up down balance may be suitable for scalping.

The indicator on the top is the conventional CCI period 14, level 200 and -200. The indicator on the bottom is Adaptive CCI, Variable method 9, 14, 0.5, 200 and -200.

The indicator on the top is the conventional CCI period 14, level 200 and -200. The indicator on the bottom is Adaptive CCI, Fractal method 14, 21, 200 and -200.

Adaptive CCI -- Volatility method with price ptMean1221

The indicator on the top is the conventional CCI period 14, level 200 and -200. The indicator on the bottom is Adaptive CCI, Volatility period 60, 200 and -200, the applied price type is set to ptMean1221, which is John Ehlers RSI smoothing method. We can see Adaptive CCI is much much smoother than conventional CCI, and still gives more over bought/sold signals than standard CCI, even though the levels in Adaptive CCI are larger than conventional CCI.

The indicator on the top is Adaptive CCI, Volatility period 60, level 200 and -200, the applied price type is set to ptMean1221, which is John Ehlers RSI smoothing method. The indicator on the bottom is Adaptive CCI, Volatility period 60, the applied price type is default Close. The result is very interesting. The smoothed Adaptive CCI is not only much smoother but also gives more over bought/sold signals!
